PROMISING Phoenix Suns’ point guard Brandon Knight rues the untimely injuries that plagued his team last year, but still has high hopes for the franchise next season.

The former 8th overall pick in the 2011 draft was posting career-high numbers after he joined the Suns midway the 2015 season, but a recurring sports hernia hampered him throughout last year.

Knight, who is in the country for this year’s Gatorade NBA Training Center at the Hoops Center in Mandaluyong, came off an impressive ‘15-’16 campaign averaging 19.6 pts, 5.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game before being sidelined at the end of Phoenix’s 23-59 season.

The 6’3” guard missed a total of 30 games after being in and out of the lineup due to various injuries, particularly a groin injury which marred his stellar year.

His backcourt tag-team with Eric Bledsoe last season could’ve helped the Suns, but the duo combined for only 83 appearances due to injuries, with Bledsoe hurting his left knee early in December.

But the former NBA All-Rookie First Team member is positive that his team will make a turn-around next season, even though there are rumors brewing about him being traded.

Knight is in town with former Celtic and 1991 Dunk Champ Dee Brown for the Gatorade NBA Fit Week.
