A suite fit for a king

Have you ever dreamed about living like a king? Well, you can actually.

The Manila Hotel’s newly renovated three-bedroom Presidential Suite exudes a taste of grandeur and luxury, truly worthy of world’s royalty.

Located at the topmost floor of the hotel, it spans a floor area of 1,200 square meters making it one of the biggest Presidential Suites in the Southeast Asian region. It commands a superb view of Manila Bay, an important factor considered before the renovation of the suite. It enables guests to have a glimpse of the famous Manila Bay sunset, Corregidor island, and the ruins of the medieval fortress that is Intramuros, from almost anywhere in the suite. The Presidential Suite is indeed one of the Grand Dame’s jewels.

On May 18, The Manila Hotel opened the new Presidential Suite. Among the guests who had the chance to have a peek at the suite were members of the diplomatic community, government officials, businessmen and hotel industry top guns. Atty. Joey Lina, president of the hotel, welcomed the guests and had cocktails, thanks to hotel’s talented chefs. The Manila Hotel string quartet provided soft music while the guests enjoyed their drinks and hors d’oeuvre.

The suite can be accessed via an exclusive elevator at the hotel’s Grand Lobby. It has a lounge area, meeting room, dining area, a living room, study room, powder room, and a spa. A 24-hour personal butler service is available to guests and so is a pillow menu.

The suite is a charming union of Filipino and Contemporary artistry. It features an indoor lanai a.k.a. azotea, reminiscent of the old Bahay na Bato in the Spanish era next to the dining room where guests can stay after a hearty meal for some light banter. Furthermore, fine dining, just like in a high-end restaurant, is possible in the suite. The show kitchen is well equipped and can accommodate two or three chefs as they prepare different dishes in full view of the guests. The suite even has its own helipad overlooking Manila Bay and Manila city’s skyline.

For this transformation project, the hotel chose Manny Samson, head of Manny Samson and Associates.

Undeniably, this is another milestone in the rich history of the Grand Dame!
