Members of the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals protest in front of  an Hermes store at the Greenbelt mall, claiming Hermes keeps young ostriches in dirty feedlots until they are trucked to slaughterhouses, where the year-old birds are then turned upside down in a stunner, their throats slit and their feathers plucked out, creating the bumpy textured skin used for Hermès’ handbags.
