50 drug suspects arrested in Metro

The National Capital Region Police Office arrested  at least 50 suspected drug pushers and seized  P400 million worth of prohibited substances in the first four months of the year, Metro Manila police director Joel Pagdilao said on Wednesday.

From January to April 24, the NCRPO  confiscated 80.384 kilograms of shabu amounting to P401.74 million  and arrested 55 persons, Pagdilao said.

He added the NCRPO Anti-Illegal Drugs Unit has been consistent with their performance in  the campaign against  illegal drug traders  in Metro Manila. 

Recently, the team conducted buy-bust operation at Morato Avenue corner Timog Avenue, Barangay Triangle, Quezon City which resulted in the arrest of seven suspects and seizure of  20 kilos of shabu worth P100 million. 

Early this month, police also arrested three suspected drug traffickers and seized five kilos of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The suspects were identified as Akmad Hassan Bagal, Halil Sulaiman Said and Kamar Bayantol Marham.

Last month, the team also nabbed a Chinese national and seized 10 kilos of shabu worth P10 million, also during a buy-bust operation in San Juan City. The suspect — Jinfa Wang, 38, a native of Fujian, China, was arrested in front of a fast food restaurant at Virra Mall in Greenhills.

Pagdilao   assured the public that the NCRPO is continuously strengthening its anti-criminality campaign  promote peace and order in the metropolis especially with the  forthcoming national election.

“Illegal drugs have no place in our community. We all know what illegal drugs do to lives of our people and to the communities they live in. Let us help each other in dealing a final blow to the drug menace,” Pagdilao said.  

Rogelio Casurao, Vice Chairman and Executive Officer of the National Police Commission, commended the NCRPO and  Pagdilao for the dedication and determination in enforcing the law and suppressing the criminality in Metro Manila.
