Kapuso network rings in New Year with star-studded trade event

In a heartfelt show of gratitude, GMA Network through its Marketing and Productions Group hosted a star-studded thanksgiving party for its clients, advertisers and agency partners on Feb. 10 to welcome the New Year.

Pure excitement and entertainment filled the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La as GMA officers and top Entertainment and News and Public Affairs personalities came to celebrate with the Network’s esteemed partners from the trade.

The event proved to be a unique Kapuso experience from start to finish as guests were treated to a show-stopping performance by Rock ‘N Soul Diva Aicelle Santos, along with an exciting preview of programs that will soon be shown on the country’s premier free-to-air channel.

The Network also put together a special edition of the pop culture phenomenon, Lip Sync Battle, for its partner agencies. Finalists of the activity were Zenith Optimedia, Carat, Touch BPN, Starcom Mediavest, Universal McCann, AQ Advertising, M.E.C., One:Manila and the grand winner was Mediaforce Vizeum Philippines. The Network recently acquired the rights to produce a local adaptation of the highly popular US program, which will air on GMA beginning Feb. 27 hosted by multi-talented artist Michael V. together with TV host-actress Iya Villania.

GMA also recognized the remarkable traits and accomplishments of its trade partners in the first “Kapuso Fun Awards.” Over P3 million worth of prizes including 3 brand new cars were also raffled off throughout the event with Kapuso comedians Betong Sumaya and Boobay as hosts.

AlDub’s Post-Valentine’s Day Date on ‘Tonight with Arnold Clavio’

Valentine’s Day maybe over but Tonight with Arnold Clavio (TWAC) will continue to spread love in the air as it features the phenomenal love team Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. The first part was aired on Feb. 17, while the concluding part on the 24th. 

AlDub Nation will surely look forward to the second part of the special two-part interview as Arnold “Igan” Clavio grills the Kapuso love team, asking about the real score between them. Note that in Alden’s previous guesting appearances in TWAC, the PambansangBae referred to Igan as “Tay”. 

Will Alden finally introduce Maine as his girlfriend to him? Igan, in turn, will find out who between Alden and Maine is more sweet, playful, and moody.

Watch out for the sweet exchange of messages between Alden and Maine in the last of the special episodes of Tonight with Arnold Clavio on Feb. 24, 10:15 p.m., only on GMA News TV.

We got this in our e-mail box, a statement of ABS-CBN on the uproar over the MMK episode featuring Leni Robredo’s story. We are printing the network’s statement in toto.

Importance of industriousness

Chokee (Marco Masa) puts a stop to Ramjay’s (Lemuel Pelayo) laziness and teaches him the importance of industriousness as his adventure with Sisay (Sharlene San Pedro) continues in Wansapanataym Presents: Susi ni Sisay.

After reuniting with Sisay, Chokee learns that Ramjay goes back to being lazy and once again becomes a burden to their family. With this, the dragonfly prince uses his powers and disguises as a ghost to scare and to teach Ramjay a lesson.

Meanwhile, with his return to Sisay’s home, Chokee once again sees Susan (Jolina Magdangal) and attempts to take back the key to their kingdom’s gateway. But to his disappointment, Susan does not have the key with her. Can Chokee still find the gateway’s key? Will he have the chance of seeing his family again?

Heart, Chiz celebrate first wedding anniversary

A year after the beautiful wedding, Heart Evangelista and Sen. ChizEscudero are very happy as a married couple. Heart hasn’t felt any better than when the Senator came to her life.

Heart showed how much love she has for Chiz and happy that they have hurdled their first year in a series of photos she posted on her Instagram account to tell her husband how happy she is especially for their first wedding anniversary.

The photos were taken during their  wedding on Balesin Island and some from the pre-nup photos.

Heart says that the photos inspire her and taught her a lot about love and life.

“You are the light of my life, my mentor, my inspiration the only one who made me feel so much love.  I am who I am today all because of you… I can’t thank God enough for giving you to me… I am blessed with having you in my life,” Heart said. 

“Thank you, babe, for loving me, for teaching me to spread my wings… To many more beautiful years together, my darling. Cheers to today and forever… Happy anniversary,” she continued. 

Heart and Chiz celebrated Valentine’s Day, also her birthday an their wedding anniversary in Sorsogon with their families and friends.

Heart couldn’t contain her emotion with the warm welcome and surprise of the Sorsogueños, especially when they went to visit Bulusan Lake, one of her favorite places in the province.

After the simple celebration, Chiz is back on the campaign trail with his presidential running mate Sen. Grace Poe.

Heart said she will be on the campaign trail herself and will go to places her husband hasn’t been to yet.

Chiz on the other hand still feels he and Heart have just been married. 

“Alam mo, kaming mga bagong kasal, hindi trabaho ang iniisip,” Chizsaid in a jest in an interview.

Heart traveled to Sorsogon on Feb. 12 and Chis followed the day after.
