Monde Nissin signed a deal with US food manufacturer Kellogg’s to distribute the latter’s products in the Philippines.
The strategic partnership will pave the way for Monde Nissin to expand into new categories, after it made three acquisitions in 2015.
The partnership will also enable Kellogg’s to further strengthen its presence in the Philippine market.
“The turn of the year ushered in a new venture for Monde Nissin as it sealed partnership with Kellogg’s for product distribution in the Philippines. The partnership is set to grow Kellogg’s breakfast cereals and snacking categories by expanding the local reach of its ready-to-eat cereal products and iconic potato chip brand Pringles,” Monde Nissin said in a statement posted on its website.
Kellogg’s offers a wide product assortment led by flagship product Corn Flakes. The company is also behind cereal brands Froot Loops, Frosties and Special K.
Kellogg’s took in the business of Pringles in 2012, which tripled the size of its international snacks business and made the company as one of the major players in the potato chips industry.
Kellogg’s products were previously distributed in the Philippines through a distribution agreement with Alaska Milk Corp.
Monde Nissin made three significant acquisitions in 2015, the biggest of which was the 550-million-pound purchase of Quorn Foods, a UK-based meat substitute producer, which was completed in October.
The company through unit Monde Nissin (Australia) Pty. Ltd. also made two acquisitions in Australia, including Menora Foods and Black Swan.
Menora Foods is one of the leading fast moving consumer goods firms in Australia with a wide array of trusted brands in the categories of dips, condiments, pasta, beverages, confectionery, cakes, snack foods and general merchandise.
Black Swan is the leading brand of chilled dips in Australia.
