Christmas is a magical time of the year when everybody relishes the festive season. But in other places like Ethiopia, the spirit of the season is hard to feel, with people in desperate need of water and where 40 percent of the population has no recourse but to collect water from unsafe and dirty sources. Every year, about 18,000 Ethiopian children die from diarrhea due to unsafe water and lack of adequate sanitation.
This Christmas, The Body Shop wants to make a positive difference and has partnered with WaterAid – a charitable trust that has been working for over three decades to bring water, hygiene sanitation and education in places where they are most needed – to provide families in Ethiopia with safe drinking water.
