DHL Express has expanded its operation in the Philippines with the inauguration of a new service center facility in the southern part of Manila that can handle capacity requirements in five years.

DHL Express Philippines country manager Nurhayati Abdullah told reporters the company had invested P79.2 million in a new DHL Express South Service Center in the Philippines to expand its network and cater to the growing logistics demand of businesses, particularly those based in Southern Luzon.

“This facility was built to handle the capacity [of the company] four to five years, so as we expand our footprint and as we walk closer to our customers. This facility is focusing on helping customers especially in the economic zone area and in the anticipation of our growth,” Abdullah said.

The facility is located in Las Piñas City, a gateway for many industries such as electronics, semiconductors and manufacturing.

She said the new facility would serve 15 percent of its total volume in the Philippines. It will serve the needs of customers in Las Piñas, Pasay, and Parañaque, as well as the province of Cavite.
