In recognition of their achievements in 2017 and presenting their goals for this year, Nissan Philippines Incorporated, recently hosted a media thanksgiving party at the Marriot Hotel in Pasay City. With the theme, “Change the Game,” the event was a strong message to the domestic automotive market that Nissan is a major player and is ready to take on its competitors as the company claims their stakes in the highly competitive car market.

“2017 was a record-breaking year for Nissan,” shared Ramesh Narasimhan, Nissan Philippines, Inc. President and Managing Director. “Not only were we able to launch new models in competitive segments, but we were also able to expand our foothold across the country and achieve our largest sales record of 25,000 vehicles growing by 48% versus the previous year. These inspire us to set the bar higher and change the game this 2018, starting with new vehicles that will surely shake up the industry.”

“On top of the efforts of our hardworking team at Nissan, our friends from media have been integral part in our success last year. They are our co-writers in the Nissan success story,” said Ramesh. “We hope that this Thanksgiving celebration and launch event can inspire everyone to change their game for the better and aim for bigger goals this 2018.”

In a move to solidify their presence in the local market, Nissan launched four new vehicles during the thanksgiving party: the Nissan Urvan Premium S, developed in collaboration with Atoy Llave and dealer partners and comes equipped with a Dealer Option luxury kit including four captain seats with leather appointments, overhead compartments and entertainment system. The new Urvan Premium S will surely provide driving and riding comfort for families; Nissan Juke N Style, now on its third installment, possesses an eye-catching and trendy red and white color combination reminiscent of the iconic NISMO colors to make it stand out even more; and the return of the Nissan Patrol Royale 7 A/T, reinforcing its title as the King of the Off- Road. The Patrol Royale comes to the fight with an upgraded engine producing an impressive 400ps power and 560Nm of torque, coupled with a new seven-speed automatic transmission.

The main event of the night was the unveiling of the 2018 GTR, which marks the official entry of the NISMO brand in the country. With GTR Chief Product Specialist Hiroshi Tamura surprising the guests that night, the GTR NISMO brought the house down with its innovations, power and driver excitement. NISMO is Nissan’s legendary motorsport and performance group which was established in 1984 that promises to redefine the pleasure of driving a Nissan car, and mixing it with a perfect balance of motorsport innovations, power, and excitement in every drive.

“Nissan is excited to let the Philippine market experience the result of NISMO’s longstanding expertise in motorsports and ultra-high performance cars. We are starting with the GT-R NISMO and customers can surely expect other nameplates under the Nismo line up in the future.” Narasimhan closed.
