The National Telecommunications and Communications (NTC) and key players of the telecommunications industry have been feted for their support for the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in carrying out its online surveys to further strengthen and improve its role in keeping peace and order in communities.

In a recent virtual ceremonies, the Napolcom awarded the NTC and telco giants Globe Telecom and Smart Communications for extending assistance when the police commission conducted crucial surveys to determine public perception on police checkpoints during community quarantine restrictions and public perception on community safety.

“Their assistance in disseminating the surveys through broadcast messaging services contributed immensely in obtaining valuable information from the public on how to improve police services and strengthen public trust in developing community-police partnerships, especially during the time of the pandemic,” said Napolcom Vice Chair and Executive Officer Vitaliano Aguirre II during awarding, which also coincided with the agency’s 55th anniversary.

The Napolcom conducted two online surveys during the pandemic, namely, Public Perception of Police Checkpoints During the Community Quarantine Period and the 2021 Public Perception of Community Safety.

The surveys were part and parcel of the overall efforts to implement the peace and order and development programs of Napolcom.
