French shipping and logistics giant CMA CGM (Compagnie Maritime d’Affrètement and Compagnie Générale Maritime) has finalized the details of its partnership with Filipino-developed fully integrated end-to-end shipping and logistics platform XLOG to allow shippers and forwarders access to digital services.

In addition, CMA CGM customers can onboard the XLOG platform to book and schedule their shipping requirements.

“The partnership between CMA CGM and XLOG creates a perfect synergy between our platforms,” said Eric Vitug, head of Sales and Marketing at Shiptek Solutions, the developer of XLOG.

He went on to say, “The French shipping and logistics company is digitizing its services globally, including the Philippines. Fortunately, XLOG has already developed and had a fully-functioning, fully-integrated shipping and logistics solutions that they can use and offer their customers.”

Joey Ynion, chief of operations at XLOG, described the collaboration as a “win-win” for both parties.

“This is a great development in the shipping and logistics space. Our XLOG platform offers a slew of digital solutions our subscribers and users can utilize for their operations. CMA CGM’s customers can now have access to our platform,” Ynion added, although the collaboration is currently limited to booking shipping requirements.

Moving forward, XLOG is also offering all its digital services to the French shipping giant and other shippers. Customers need to reach out to XLOG to take advantage of having a singular platform to orchestrate their logistics requirement.

One of the most significant advantages offered by XLOG is its cost-effectiveness, as companies who will onboard its platform will not have to spend millions in digitizing their system. The XLOG platform will only cost them a fraction of that cost.

Another integral feature of the platform is its embedded financing through its partnership with the Unionbank of the Philippines.

Ynion described embedded banking as an “anchor financing” that offers a seamless trading solution in the logistics space while eliminating the risk of bogus transactions.

“It’s like a community-based financing with the freight forwarders acting as the “anchor,” he said. “As the anchor to the financing facility, these freight forwarders will undergo a credit assessment from UBP. The trucking firms will not be required for any credit assessment. Once they are onboard the credit line, the forwarders can onboard all the trucking companies they work with, and in turn, the bank will automatically onboard the trucking companies in the system.”

Meanwhile, Shiptek Solutions Corp., founder and the pioneering leader behind the development of the XLOG platform, Eugenio Ynion Jr., said the platform practically revolutionizes the otherwise backward shipping sector with its holistic solution to almost all facets of the shipping and logistics industries.

“It’s digitized or die,” Ynion Jr. said.
