Sprout Solutions, the largest homegrown B2B SaaS company in the Philippines, recently held a series of events that educated HR practitioners about the latest HR trends, government updates, and best practices.

“Today’s working environment constantly evolves,” declares Atty. Lester Ople, Sprout’s HR Evangelist and Consultant, “so HR professionals must be ready and have the tools to manage their people more effectively and cost-efficiently.”

These events from Sprout help HR professionals understand the Filipino workforce better and offer fresh insights on how to revolutionize people management.

Reporting on The State of HR in 2022

A conference in partnership with the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) dubbed “The State of HR; Key Insights and a Practical Roadmap to Optimize Your HR Practice,” talked about post-pandemic practices to attract and retain employees.

The speakers included Patt Soyao, Managing Director and Founder of Icon Executive Asia; Atty. Arlene De Castro, Chief People and Customer Officer of Sprout. They were also joined by HR evangelist and consultant for Sprout, Atty. Lester Ople;  and PMAP Vice President, Elizabeth Nasol, DPM.

In a similar forum, Sprout joined the 243rd General Membership Meeting of the PMAP CALABARZON Chapter on “Revisiting Rewards and Benefits Policies,” which discussed the current state of employer-employee relations.

Guest speakers included Atty. Nepomuceno Leaño II, Assistant Regional Director, Region IVA of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Atty. Lester Ople, HR Evangelist and consultant at Sprout.

Atty. Lester Ople talked about the importance of digital maturity. Understanding digital maturity — or an organization’s ability to respond and adapt to tech changes —  makes it easier to craft the right rewards and benefits policies.

In early September, Sprout was invited to once again speak at PMAP’s Regional Summit in the Luzon chapter. The event was named “From Inward to Outward: Exponential Growth through Adroit Shift in Mindset.”

During the event, Sprout’s Chief People and Customer Officer, Atty. Arlene De Castro discussed the importance of the “outward paradigm,” which involves being proactive and staying future-oriented. She offered practical tips on how to adopt the outward mindset, which include allocating enough resources, proper communication, and building a strong team.

Integrating Performance Management & Development

In line with Sprout’s mission to drive digital transformation through its cloud-based, end-to-end HR platform that automates the entire employee life cycle, it hosted a webinar called “HR Experts: Levelling Up Your Performance and Learning Management Process.” The online event featured Eduardo Gutierrez, Sprout’s Director of Product Marketing and Innovation, who discussed Performance+, the first HR solution in the Philippines that combines performance and learning management into one system.

“The world is changing fast and we have to change with it,” Gutierrez stated. “The key aspect is development, which is aligned with learning and performance. Performance+ simplifies career development. It measures how your employees do their jobs and provides the support they need.”

Addressing Occupational Safety & Health

The pandemic has changed the standards of worker safety, prompting Sprout to hold a webinar about best practices in employee health and safety.

Aptly named “Occupational Safety and Health: How it Will Evolve with the Shifting Work Environment” key speakers included Ronahlee Asuncion, Ph.D., Dean, UP College of Labor and Industrialization who talked about best practices in Occupational Safety and Health. Meanwhile, Atty. Psydi Mae Oatemar, Sprout’s legal counsel, discussed the latest trends and technologies to help businesses succeed in hybrid work.

Sprout’s First-Ever Client Summit Kick-off

Meanwhile, Sprout Solutions strengthened its client relations with its first-ever client summit dubbed “Sprout Solutions Client Summit: Leveraging HR Technology to Drive Transformational Change.” Over 300 HR leaders attended the event where the latest HR trends and updates on Sprout’s end-to-end cloud HR platform were discussed.

Attendees of the eventful summit, included Sprout’s CEO and Co-Founder, Patrick Gentry, Chief Product Officer, Kislay Chandra, Chief People, and Customer Officer, Atty. Arlene De Castro and HR Evangelist, Atty. Lester Ople. They were joined by special guest speakers, Jose Kahn, President and Chief Operations Officer of Kahn Do Solutions, and influential HR consultant, Fabi Cariño.

The event talked about how to leverage HR analytics and proper self-care for HR practitioners. It also shared exclusive updates about Sprout’s product roadmap.

“All the insights shared by our speakers are meant to help HR practitioners create a framework that benefits their respective operations,” says Atty. Arlene De Castro, Chief People and Customer Officer for Sprout. “At Sprout, are always on the lookout for ways to share groundbreaking innovations among HR professionals. We look forward to hosting more insightful events to help companies stay change-ready and future-proof.”

Staying on Top of HR Trends: Quiet Quitting

Even though the concept of employee disengagement isn’t new, a phenomenon called “quiet quitting” recently went viral on social media. Sprout wanted to help HR leaders address the issue so it held an event called The Impact of Quiet Quitting: What It Is, Why It Happens, and What You Can Do About It.”

Over 700 HR leaders attended the highly anticipated event. Thelma Meneses, Chief Culture Officer of the Coca-Cola Company, the main keynote speaker of the forum, talked about how to address quiet quitting and shared some best practices from Coke. She was joined by Sprout’s HR Evangelist, Atty. Lester Ople, who discussed the pain points businesses often experience related to employee engagement.

Moving forward, Sprout will continue to organize thought-provoking, high-impact events about relevant topics in the local HR community. Each one will serve as a platform to innovate HR management and inspire change in the HR industry in the Philippines.
