Games today (Thursday)

3 p.m. – BaliPure vs PLDT

6 p.m. – Petro Gazz vs Sta. Lucia

Ilocos Norte—Petro Gazz and Sta. Lucia clash tomorrow (Thursday) in a key match tipped to go down to the last hit or block as they go all out to fan their respective semifinal drive in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference here.

Tied with Choco Mucho at third with 5-2 (win-loss) slates, the Angels seek to nail the all important sixth win that would assure themselves of at least a playoff for one of the Final Four berth shaping up to be a five-cornered fight.

But the Lady Realtors are hot on a four-game run, bouncing back strong from a 1-3 card to threaten at fifth at 5-3 and within a dream semis stint in the country’s first pro volley league.

That should make the 6 p.m. encounter at the PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center in Bacarra a match to watch with Sta. Lucia hoping to draw sustained firepower from the likes of MJ Philips, Jonah Sabete, Jovie Prado, Aiza Pontillas and middle hitter/blocker Mika Reyes, who stepped up their respective games to lift the Lady Realtors to victories over the Black Mamba Army Lady Troopers, Chery Tiggo Crossovers, the BaliPure Water Defenders and the Perlas Spikers.

But the Angels, led by Myla Pablo, Ria Meneses, Gretchel Soltones and Ces Molina, are also coming off a romp over the Water Defenders last Tuesday following a straight-set loss to the Crossovers, guaranteeing a slam-bang encounter between two semis contenders.

BaliPure and PLDT, meanwhile, mix it up at 3 p.m. in a duel of pride as the duo are out of the race in post-season play with 2-5 and 1-6 cards, respectively.

Games are telecast live on One Sports (Free to Air), and One Sports+ (Pay TV) with both channels available for linear streaming on Cignal Play and on gigafest.smart with replays on http://www.pvl.ph.

Choco Mucho continues to lead the 10-team field with a 6-0 mark but the Flying Titans are in for tough matches in their last three elims assignments – Creamline, Chery Tiggo, and Petro Gazz, while the second-running Cool Smashers will take on the Perlas Spikers in their last elims game.
