Russian netter Polina Kudermetova upset world no. 9-ranked Alexandra Eala, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, in the quarterfinals of the 2020 AGL Loy Yang Traralgon Junior International Tennis Tournament in Victoria, Australia.

With Eala out of the way, Kudermetova went on to brush off Cella Belle Mohr of France, 6-4, 7-6 (7), in the semis.

This set Kudermetova up for a finals’ showdown with Melania Dedal of Italy.

The loss gives the 14-year-old Eala time to focus on her stint in the girls’ doubles with teammate Priska Madeleine Nugroho of Indonesia.

Dedal moved into a finals clash with Kudermetova after disposing of Spain’s Ane de Olmo, 6-3, 6-2.
