Champion racers, led by multi-titled Kenneth San Andres, Jethrick Marquez and Moymoy Flores, plus a sprinkling of up-and-coming riders from Visayas and Mindanao, will pit guts and skills in the racing extravaganza held under the auspices of the National Motorcycle Sports Safety Association (NAMSSA).

The opening rounds will serve as the tune up races for the FIM Asia Supercross Championship slated on Nov. 21 to 24, featuring the participation of strong riders from Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, India, China, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

The National Motocross Championship and the FIM Asia Supercross Championship are spearheaded by NAMSSA and FIM Asia President Stephan “Macky” Carapiet.

“The Supercross track in Manila is of international standards and surely, the FIM championship will be the most exciting motorsports’ event to hit Manila this year, with high thrilling jumps and aerial maneuvers from the top Asian MX riders,” said Carapiet.

The twin tournaments are also organized by the NAMSSA, the sole governing body for two-wheel motorsports in the Philippines, duly affiliated with the Philippine Olympic Committee, FIM Asia and the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme of Suisse.

“It will be a fierce battle for Asian supremacy and bragging rights. Motocross enthusiasts will be in for a treat,” said Carapiet.

These events are supported by Foilacar, Karcher, Monark Cat, Shell Advance, Shell V-Power, SM Bicutan, Maynilad, Asia Brewery, KYT, Alpinestar, Partas Bus, YSS, Shakey’s, ICTSI, and 4 BROS Racing.

“Everything is set. The riders are all excited. Everyone’s raring to give motocross fans a competition to remember,” said Carapiet.

The rise of the Philippines’ talents in Asia and the world are a product of the NAMSSA National Sports Development program.
