Antipolo City—F2 Logistics and Petron seek to protect their blazing streaks when they tackle separate foes in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Center here.

The Blaze Spikers battle Sta. Lucia at 4:15 p.m. while the Cargo Movers collide with Marinerang Pilipina in the 7 p.m. featured encounter of this prestigious women’s club tournament bankrolled by Team Rebel Sports, SOGO, Eurotel, PCSO, Cocolife, UCPB Gen, Mueller, Senoh, Asics, Bizooku and One Sport.

After hiring Filipino-American Kalei Mau, the Cargo Movers have yet to lose a single game, piling up 10 straight wins to spark speculations that they have what it takes to complete a sweep of the double-round preliminaries.

But in their previous game against Generika-Ayala, the Cargo Movers displayed traces of vulnerability as they flirted with disaster before eking out a 25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13 victory over the weekend at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Mau spearheaded the offensive attack and Majoy Baron and Dawn Macandili imposed their will at the defensive end, but F2 Logistics still had a hard time putting down the pesky Lifesavers, who lost skipper Angeli Araneta in to injury in the crucial stretch of the deciding set.

“Our game against Generika-Ayala should serve as a big lesson for the team,” said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus. “You just can’t go to the venue and play the game. You also have to be prepared and respect your opponent.”

Against Marinerang Pilipina, F2 Logistics is tipped to go hard to gain momentum needed for the tough grind ahead.

The Lady Skippers will be coming in without injured spiker Chiara Permentilla, but the crew of Ivy Remulla, Caitlyn Viray, Rhea Ramirez, Dimdim Pacres, Cesca Racraquin and Judith Abil are expected to step up to claim their first ever victory in this league that also has ESPN5 and Kapatid TV5 as broadcast partners.

“I told the team to just keep on working,” said Lady Skippers’ head coach Ronald Dulay. “After all, good things happen to those who do their best to win.”
