F2 Logistics and Foton put their respective winning streaks on the line when they collide in a highly anticipated second-round battle in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference today at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Action fires off at 7 p.m. with the Cargo Movers and th Tornadoes riding the crest of their impressive winning streaks in this prestigious women’s club tourney bankrolled by Team Rebel Sports, SOGO, Eurotel, PCSO, Cocolife, UCPB Gen, Mueller, Senoh, Asics, Bizooku and One Sport.

Meanwhile, reigning champion Petron also guns for its seventh straight win when it tackles PLDT Home Fibr at 4:15 p.m. while struggling Sta. Lucia and Marinerang Pilipina seek to end their miseries when they clash in the 2 p.m. appetizer.

After acquiring Filipino-American Kalei Mau in the off-season, the Cargo Movers have yet to drop a single game as they raced to an 8-0 start in this battle that also has ESPN5 and Kapatid TV5 as broadcast partners.

Although the Blaze Spikers also have a winning streak of their own, the Tornadoes are still regarded as the hottest team behind the Cargo Movers with six straight victories after starting the season with a 1-3 win-loss card.

In their first match, F2 Logistics greatly struggled before running away with a tough 25-9, 23-25, 25-22, 25-16 win, no thanks to the improved performance of towering sisters Jaja Santiago and Dindin Manabat as well as the support crew of Elaine Kasilag, Maika Ortiz, Gyzelle Sy and Shaya Adorador.

“Foton is such a tall team. They are a tough team because of sister Jaja and Dindin, who have experiences in the national team and in Japan club league,” F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus said.

“So we have to be well-prepared and look for Foton’s weak point. If we’ll be able to follow our game plan, we could be successful in the game.”

For Foton head coach Aaron Velez, they shouldn’t simply rely on two players alone to counter the Cargo Movers’ star-studded roster of Mau, Ara Galang, Aby Marano, Majoy Baron, Kianna Dy, setter Michelle Cobb and libero Dawn Macandili.

“Up against F2 this is just going to be a game of how organized a team is, I have a lot of respect for F2. We have to do our homework, we have to do extra hard work and be more tactical,” Velez said.

“I want them to have the right mindset first and that is to strive for excellence since it’s still a long way to go for us. So we have to be more consistent and to be more aggressive.”
