A series of tournaments involving Valorant and League of Legends: Wild Rift has begun.

And organizers hope to see a team from the Philippines win the Southeast Asian championships later this year.

Mineski Philippines country manager Mark Navarro said this as they announced their plans to hold matches through the Philippine Professional Gamers League.

“We are beginning with our first challengers this week. What’s important here is that at the end of every split (challenger) for Valorant, we will be seeing the best teams in the country,” said Navarro.

Mineski Philippines will be partnering with Oppo and Globe Telecom for their coming online tournaments.

Valorant is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person hero shooter developed and published by Riot Games, for Microsoft Windows.

Players play as one of a set of agents, characters that are based on the cultures of several countries around the world.

The winner of the PPGL will compete in two Super Major Tournaments, before they qualify for a spot in the world championships.

Navarro said they are developing more storylines for Wild Rift.

The game is a modified version of the PC game League of Legends.

Wild Rift is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game in the three-dimensional perspective.

According to game rules, players compete in matches, lasting anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes on average.

These teams work together to destroy a structure called the Nexus in the enemy team’s base, bypassing a line of defensive structures called turrets.
