All set for PWCCA election for top posts on June 19

THE Philippine Wushu Colleges & Clubs Association will hold its election for the position of Chairperson and President on Sunday, June 19.

This was announced by Chief Executive Officer Abe Lim. The site of the election has yet to be determined.
PWCCA Secretary General Sean Elijah Siy has been tasked to look for the venue of the election process.
Candidates coming from different institutions, such as those schools, clubs, and corporate establishments will be recommended by the PWCCA Executive Committee.

The election process, to be observed by the invited schools and club members and representatives from the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines Board of Trustees and the Philippine Inter-School Sports Association Board of Directors, calls for the selection of a president through a simple majority of the votes.

According to Lim, prominent Filipino-Chinese businessmen and patrons have been invited to witness the election exercises. They include FESSAP President Edwin C. Fabro and FESSAP Board Chairman Alvin Tai Lian.

The position of PWCCA Chairperson will be introduced. A nomination for the position is up for the challenge.
The PWCCA was established in late 2018 under the auspices of the FESSAP, with Lim as the PWCCA’s first President. Then in 2020, businessman Benson Ong was voted the second president, with his induction being held at the Manila City office, performed by the Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

The current PWCCA Officers is composed of Benson Ong as President, Abe Lim as the Chief Executive Officer, Gladys Carrascoso Sia (Vice President), Sean Elijah Wico Siy (Secretary-General), and Abigail B. Faniega (Treasurer).
PSCCA Member Board Directors are Jomar Balangui, Loren Chloe Balaoing, Czarina Joy C. Hagos, Sherwin John Bromajon, Earl Von Erick G. Pasno, and Edmundo ‘Eddie’ Africa Ang.

There is the additional recommendation of new PWCCA Directors to boost the activities and interests of the wushu in participation in the national and international competitions.

FESSAP Board of Trustees has been tasked to do the election process of the PWCCA.
Further, China’s Fujian Jinjiang Municipal Sports Bureau head, Chen Maohe, who is the CPC Secretary of Fujian Jinjiang Municipal Sports Bureau and head of Jinjiang Wushu Association, and Xu Zizhu, the Director of Fujian Jinjiang Municipal Sports Bureau, will partner with the PWCCA on Wushu development and invitational competitions in Jinjiang City, according to Lim.

Chen Maohe of Jinjiang Wushu Association wishes the PWCCA a successful election on June 19 and looks forward to boosting the exchange programs with the PWCCA in the field of Wushu development with Jinjiang City to value its cultural progress together.
Fujian Jinjiang Municipal Sports Bureau is hosting the 18th Gymnasiade organized by the International School Sport Federation in Jinjiang City from November 26 to December 3, 2022.

Jinjiang City is known as the hometown of Wushu in China, said Chen Maohe.
