LEADING sports personalities, headed by former Senator and swimming ‘Godmother’ Nikki Coseteng and multi-titled swimmer and former Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Eric Buhain return to the historic Rizal Memorial Sports Complex to lead athletes, coaches and sports supporters in today’s march for unity and change in Philippine sports.

Using the theme “Sports Forum: Kilos sa Pagbabago,” the group is calling for change and renewal of the Philippine sporting landscape.

The program is set from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Assembly will be at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum

“In the observance of the National Day of Protest, we are joining  Filipino athletes, coaches and deprived sports leaders on their quest for justice and fairness,” said group convener Edgardo ‘Tito Boy’ Cantada, president of the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF).

“We are giving Jose Cojuangco and his gang in the Philippine Olympic Committee a chance to answer all the charges and grievances against them,” said Cantada.

“Their track record have shown they are incapable of leading Philippine sports. Cojuangco and his gang exist not for the Filipino athletes, but for themselves. We are retaking the pride, justice and commitment they’ve stolen from the Filipino athletes,” Cantada added.

Also expected to attend the gathering are Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Ramon ‘El Presidente’ Fernandez and gymnastics’ head Cynthia Carrion.

The group also invited Senators Richard Gordon, Bongbong Marcos and JV Ejercito, as well as sports and movie personality Derek Ramsey.

Former PSC chairman Aparicio Mequi and VACC president Dante Jimenez also confirmed their attendance.
