RANIDEL de Ocampo is relishing his role as one of the “elder brothers” in the TNT KaTropa Texters.
The 35-year-old de Ocampo is among the four veteran players of the team and because of this, the younger set of players of the squad look up to him and the likes of Harvey Carey, Danny Seigle and Kelly Williams as role models.
“Nakikita ko na iyung mas bata na papalit sa pagtagal. At dahil gusto naming nasa tamang direksyon ang team, gina-guide din namin sila,” said de Ocampo.
De Ocampo talked about the Texters after TCL, the official TV partner of the Philippine Basketball Association, named him as a brand ambassador with Cyrus Baguio and Raffy Reavis.
He expressed his thoughts during TCL Philippines’ launch of their new products on Thursday evening at the PBA Café in the Metrowalk, Pasig City.
The 6’6” de Ocampo added that the team is now complete following the return of Gilas Pilipinas national team members RR Pogoy, Troy Rosario and Jason Castro.
With them around, the Texters were able to pull off a 119-110 beating of the Alaska Aces last May 20 at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Legazpi City.
Their seventh win in 10 games put the Texters in a tie for third spot with the Meralco Bolts in the ongoing PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
During the launch, TCL unveiled the Cityline Series, C2. C2 is an Android M-powered TV that grants users with access to a broad range of content on the internet, through apps like Google Play Store, games, music, movie, Chomecast and voice search.
C2 has 75, 55 and 49 inch models.
They also unveiled a new line of inverter air condititioners, the KE series which has mosquito repellent function.
“It’s packed with a lot of technologies and features for our consumers. And it’s easy to use. The products promote family bonding moments. We think that this it the right product for the Filipino family,” said TCL Philippines brand manager Amor Golifardo.
