Love and karate in time of Coronavirus

Not even a global pandemic could stop karateka James Delos Santos from not only pursuing his love of karate but actually winning international competitions in his sport.

He ruled the recent Palestine International Karate Cup winning gold in the kata online tournament.

He later grabbed silver in his first Karate e-Tournament world series which propelled him to World No. 6 and to the top of the heap in Asia in the E-Tournament World Series Ranking which is sanctioned by the World Karate Federation.

While the world economy slowed down and sports competitions ground to a halt, Karate—specifically kata competitions—can still conduct competitions while observing safety protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Delos Santos has followed all safety protocols mandated by the Philippine government but still managed to grab a gold and a silver in his sport.

“I’m currently staying in my condo in Taguig. I would say it can suffice for training. I’m training on karate, as well as taking jogs and sprints. Not only do I still train karate just to keep myself healthy and fit, but I also found out lately about virtual tournaments, which gives me another reason to continue training. The more virtual tourneys out there, all the more I get motivated,” said Delos Santos.

And to give him that extra energy Delos Santos relies on a healthy and delicious drink of Kaffea.

“It gives me that natural energy that I need for my rigid workouts. It is known to have several health properties,” said Delos Santos.

He benefits from Kaffea’s healthy ingredients like collagen which strengthens the muscles, tendons, and joints. It also tightens the skin which makes him look well-nourished and glowing. The coffee blend helps keep Delos Santos slim and fit. It promotes weight management because of the combination of glutathione and L-Carnitine.

Health benefits, aside, Delos Santos said that he simply loves Kaffea’s taste, which highlights the flavor of coconut sugar mixed with coconut cream.

“Kaffea wakes me up and gives me the energy to keep me active during training and competition. I love the taste and aroma of the coconut sugar. I would recommend it to people who have health problems since most cheap instant coffees have unhealthy ingredients. Kaffea is a very healthy alternative,” said Delos Santos.

The spread of Covid-19 looks to have been contained in the Philippines with the country slowly resuming normal activities. Delos Santos advises patience because while the worst may be over it will still need everyone’s cooperation and patience to overcome this global health threat.

“I know most of us are itching to go out. Yes, I understand that it’s not easy being confined at home, especially for those who are extroverts. But this is for our own good. Cases are rising day by day because the virus spreads from person to person. Staying home is what prevents the virus from spreading further,” said Delos Santos.

“I also know that some of us have issues with one another, but we’re all facing a common enemy. The only way we can combat against this deadly virus is to set our issues aside and work together. We heal as one.”

Kaffea is available nationwide at Rustan’s Supermarkets, Marketplace at Rustan’s, Shopwise, SM Kultura, SM Supermarket Market Street, CityMall GoLokal stores, and online at lazada.com.ph and beautymnl.com. Call (02) 8477-9920 for orders and inquiries.
