San Miguel Beer center JuneMar Fajardo congratulated Denver Nuggets' center Nikola Jokic in a Facebook post last June 10, 2021 for winning the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award.
“Congrats to one of my idols Nikola "The Joker" Jokić for bagging the NBA MVP this season! As the lowest draft pick to ever win an MVP, you proved to us that hard work pays off. Well deserved!,” the SMB center said.
The two big men battled it out during the FIBA World Cup, wherein Serbia dominated Gilas Pilipinas with a score of 126-67 on September 2, 2019.
Even though Gilas lost, Fajardo still thanked Jokic for signing his custom-made “Joker” shoes and taking a picture with him.
“Had this pair of shoes customized just to wear against you in the PH-Serbia FIBA game. Thank you for signing them! Appreciate it," Fajardo said.
