Superstar players in the US National Basketball Association and legends alike will soon be visiting the Philippines and reach out to their fans.

Pat Giron, NBA Philippines’ Merchandising Manager, said this during the opening of the NBA Store in the Fashion Hall in SM Megamall on Friday.

Their presence in the newly-opened store could happen once COVID-19 travel restrictions are been lifted, giving fans a chance to have a meet-and-greet with them.

NBA legend Mugsy Bogues last visited the country in August of 2019, some six months before the country went into lockdown because of the pandemic.

“Definitely, we are looking forward to hosting NBA players and even legends. We will bring them to the store and give them an opportunity to meet the fans,” said Giron.

The NBA opened the international store in Metro Manila, under new management by Titanomachy International, Inc. (Titan)

The store offers fans official NBA merchandise from all 30 teams.

Giron said their offering now includes the red jersey worn by Fil-American cager Jalen Green of the Houston Rockets. Green was drafted by the Rockets last year.

And they could include Filipino cager Kai Sotto once he gets drafted by a team in the NBA.

“By then, we’ll talk to our merchandisers and make sure that he does get included,” added Giron.

The 250-square-meter retail space is located in the second floor of Building A and features an extensive selection of products, including jerseys, shirts, footwear, headwear, accessories, equipment, memorabilia and collectibles.

The products come from brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Mitchell & Ness, New Era, Funko, Panini, Wilson, and more.

The NBA Store will also carry locally designed shirts and special products from Nike, Jordan Brand, Mitchell & Ness and New Era.
