TNT KaTropa shoots for a commanding 2-0 lead as it looks to repeat against Meralco in the resumption of their semifinals series in the 2019 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup.

Looking to move closer to the finals, the Tropang Texters want another one, while the Bolts look to equalize in their Game 2 meet at 7 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It was TNT which was able to draw first blood with a 103-94 triumph in Game 1 Sunday night.

Playing like a man on a mission, KJ McDaniels propelled the Tropang Texters to that first series victory with a game-high 38 points and 14 rebounds.

The Texters gave the Bolts a thorough beating, leading for most of the way before sealing the win.

TNT coach Bong Ravena knows the significance of that first win.

“We’re glad we took Game 1. It’s very important to be able to set the tone for ourselves,” said Ravena.

Still, he made it clear that the lead is not something to be satisfied about.

“Nothing to celebrate yet. We still have a long way to go.”

Meralco is looking to depend more on its locals as import Allen Durham did not get enough help in Game 1.

Meanwhile, NorthPort is currently gunning for its own 2-0 lead over Barangay Ginebra in their own semis clash at the other side of the fence.
