Texters tap another ex-Rocket

Following their grueling finals’ encounter in the 2019 Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup, eventual champion San Miguel Beer and TNT KaTropa are now looking forward to the season-ending Governors’ Cup.

Soon after the wrap-up of their highly-competitive championship tilt in which the Beermen won in six games, both squads immediately locked up their imports for the third conference.

Now eyeing a Grand Slam after winning the season’s first two championships, San Miguel Beer is bringing in Dez Wells to help its cause.

The 27-year-old Wells is a 6’5” forward who played for Xavier and Maryland in the US NCAA.

He also played in the NBA G-League for the Oklahoma City Blue before taking his act to Greece and Italy, most recently.

As for the Tropang Texters, they are tapping KJ McDaniels, who was a teammate of their recent Commissioner’s Cup import Terrence Jones with the Houston Rockets.

He was a second-round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014 draft before joining Jones in Houston in 2015.

Both San Miguel and TNT are hoping that their new imports can replicate the success of the ones they had in recently-concluded Commissioner’s Cup.
