Perlas vents ire on host Mongolia

Perlas Pilipinas bounced back from a 2-22 loss to third seed France with a 22-14 triumph over host Mongolia yesterday in the FIBA 3×3 Under 18 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

With their 1-1 win-loss record in Pool C, the 14th seed Philippines stayed in contention for a quarterfinals seat.

Angelica Surado and Camille Clarin had seven and six points, respectively, for the Filipinas in their game against the Mongolians.

France leads Pool C after posting a 15-2 demolition of Netherlands, with Lisa Dufon, N’dye Mayé Touré and Mariama Daramy sharing the offense by scoring 4 points each.

Top-seeded China coasted to a 21-5 victory over Sri Lanka and a 17-9 stopping of Mexico, behind Xianglin Wu with 16 points to put them ahead in Pool A.

Hungary is in front of Pool B with its 14-13 beating of Russia, and 11-10 edging of Poland.
