GINEBRA’S head tactician Tim Cone believes that his Ginebra is the best team to challenge reigning Philippine Cup champion San Miguel Beermen this coming 43rd season of the PBA.
“We match up well against San Miguel Beer as well as anybody can,” said Cone in a short interview during the team’s thanksgiving celebration with their fans at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City last Dec. 1.
As an exciting rivalry is brewing between the sister teams, the multi-titled coach showed confidence that Ginebra players have the components to go head-to-head against the defending champs.
But he was quick to address their supposed achilles hill—their lack of speed.
“We probably match up better than San Miguel than we do like a team like Talk N Text that runs up and down the floor,” explained Cone.
With the rejuvenated game of Greg Slaughter, the return of versatile forward Art Dela Cruz and the recent addition of rookie gunner Jett Manuel to the already stacked team of Ginebra, the Kings are ready once more to dominate the coming PBA season.
