SAN Beda College-Taytay frontliner Prince Alao ignited a scorching third-quarter run to outgun De La Salle-Zobel ,87-64, in the curtain raiser of the 13-under School Division of the Manila Brotherhood Basketball League Association League Inc. at the Trinity University of Asia Gym in Quezon City.

Alao’s all-around performance netted him 24 points, half of them   from a third-quarter blitz supported by JR Lopez with 21 points en route to its opening victory in the league organized by MBBLAI founding president Erick Kirong of Macway Travel, along with Chairman Joseph Ronquillo, VP Ray Alao, directors DM Bradley and Nats Manarang and supported by Cocolife.

Arandia College  pulled off an upset victory over San Beda College-Mendiola in the 19-under category, 54-46.

Johnlon Llarvez and Ehm Zee Babasa combined forces for Paranaque dribblers to snap every attempt of the Mendiola-based cagers  to steal the game that went Arandia’s way.
