MARY Joy Tabal is asking authorities to let her continue training in Tuscany, Italy.
Tabal made this appeal as she made efforts to fulfill the conditions set by the lippine Athletics Track and Field Association.
The 27-year-old Tabal is making an effort to be reinstated in the national team and see action in the coming Southeast Asian Games.
Her main supporter, businessman-sportsman Jonel Borromeo relayed Tabal’s message on Tuesday evening to PATAFA president Philip Ella Juico in a meeting.
Juico informed Borromeo that the PATAFA Reinstatement Committee will review Tabal’s request once they get it.
“We discussed the requirements of PATAFA. In principle, we agreed that to continue. Her training format is important but it has to be presented to the panel formed to handle this issue,” said Borromeo in an interview with Manila Standard.
While Tabal is in Italy, Borromeo is mediating on her behalf with the PATAFA.
Last Saturday, the PATAFA set its conditions for Tabal’s reinstatement that will allow her to join the national team that will see action in the SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
Among the conditions imposed on Tabal was that she “shall sign a written undertaking committing herself to abide by the PATAFA rules and regulations for all national athletes.”
