The Taguig Lady Generals got back to their winning ways after defeating Stan Quezon Lady SparTAN, 58-50, on Saturday in the Pia Cayetano WNBL Season 2021 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Janeth Sison lifted the Lady Generals to their second win in three games with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals, bouncing back from their 58-37 defeat against the Paranaque Lady Aces last Sunday.
Sison drained back-to-back threes to go into the fourth quarter with a 45-40 lead for the Lady Generals.
Before Sison’s explosion, Taguig started out slow and trailed 10-1 in the game.
Taguig also got contributions from Tin Capilit as she scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds in the game. Jocy Positos scored eight points, five rebounds and seven assists for Taguig as it solidified its hold of third place in the standings.
Dianne Ventura scored 15 points for the Lady SparTAN but lost their third straight game. They will look to bounce back on Sunday as Quezon goes up against another winless team Pacific Water (0-3) on Sunday at 11:15 a.m.
