Staglets crush Providential College of Bulacan

Kean Baclaan unloaded 21 points for the defending champion San Sebastian Staglets in their 83-70 beating of First City Providential College of Bulacan, 83-70, in the junior division of the ongoing 24th Fr. Martin Cup summer tournament at the St. Placid gymnasium inside the San Beda-Mendiola campus in Manila.

Rafael Are contributed 15 points for the Staglets as they picked up their first triumph in four matches in this cagefest supported by Cocolife.

This allowed the Staglets to bounce back from their loss to the University of Perpetual Help Junior Altas, who posted an 84-82 triumph over them.

In other matches, Paco Catholic Foundation prevailed over San Beda-Rizal B, 67-55, while St. Patrick School won over San Beda-Manila, 97-71.

Meanwhile, Sydney Mosqueda delivered 16 points for the La Salle Greenhills Greenies as they warded off St. Patrick School, 107-77.

In women’s action, Valerie Mamaril and Mary Ann Bastatas showed the way for the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in their 81-71 smothering of the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons.

This handed the Lady Tamaraws their first triumph in three matches.
