THE Hiroshima Dragonflies in the Japan B.League will be the next destination of 7’3” Filipino big man Kai Sotto.

Sotto made the decision to play for the Dragonflies, who pursued him after they initially signed Filipino cager Justine Baltazar to be their Asian Quota Player. Baltazar reportedly did not click with his new squad following his two-month stint with them.

The Dragonflies currently have a 27-9 win-loss record this season, sharing the same position with Ryukyu Golden Kings and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins.

So far, Sotto has played a total of 50 games for the Adelaide 36ers in the NBL, with an average of  7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds.

“I am so grateful for the two unforgettable years in the city of Adelaide! It had its ups and downs, but I’m sure the 36ers’ community will always be part of my life and I’ll miss this place. I appreciate all my brothers that I got to share the court with,” said Sotto in his post on Facebook.

Sotto’s two-year contract as a special restricted player with Adelaide has ended.
