Rodrigues-Todd unification bout added to ONE Fight Night 5 in PH

Two of the biggest stars in the striking world just got added to the event that will mark ONE Championship’s return to the Philippines after two years.

The promotion recently announced that the ONE Atomweight World Title unification bout between reigning champion Allycia Helen Rodrigues and interim champ Janet “JT” Todd has been added to ONE Fight Night 5 on the morning of December 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Rodrigues is known for ending the reign of charismatic Thai star Stamp Fairtex in Muay Thai, though she’s been inactive since then as she had to focus on motherhood.

Todd—who was dominating the kickboxing scene at that time—umped into Muay Thai and put together an impressive winning streak over Alma Juniku and Anne Line Hogstad to get a shot at the interim ONE World Title.

The American then had an impressive showing against Lara Fernandez at ONE 159 to win the interim belt, and now she gets a chance to unify the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title by facing Rodrigues in what could be the biggest fight for women’s striking arts this year.

But it’s not only the women who will shine in the morning show of the day-long martial arts spectacle.

Last weekend, the promotion confirmed the debut of one of the most coveted free agents in Roberto “Robocop” Soldic. The Croatian battles unbeaten Murad Ramazanov in a three-round welterweight MMA bout that could turn out to be a show stealer.

“Robocop” has been an absolute monster outside of ONE; he comes in with a 20-3 record and 90 percent finishing rate.

Ramazanov, on the other hand, will be putting his unbeaten 11-0 record on the line, and a win here could catapult him to the top of the division and maybe place him next in line for ONE Welterweight World Champion Kiamrian Abbasov.

The massive morning show is just one-half of the day-long event. The night culminates with ONE 164, where the Philippines’ own Joshua “The Passion” Pacio defends his strap against dangerous top contender Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks in the main event.

In the meantime, the newest hit reality TV show “ONE Warrior Series Philippines” continues every Sunday night on GTV, the ONE Super App, and watch.onefc.com. Weekly replays air on Tap Go, ONE Championship Philippines Facebook, and ONE Championship’s official YouTube channel.
