A team like Barangay Ginebra San Miguel has been through various situations before.

And coach Tim Cone is thankful he has an experienced squad that can handle any situation when they confront the Meralco Bolts in Game 6 of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

“I’m fortunate to have a team which understands and has been through many wars,” said Cone as they brace for another tough grind against Bolts, following their 115-110 Easter Sunday triumph that moved the team a win shy of the title.

The Gin Kings shoot for the crown against the Bolts, who in turn, will attempt to equalize the series and send the contest into a do-or-die Game 7.

“They only have three wins. (If) we win this game, we tie the series so that’s what we’re focused on right now,” said Bolts’ coach Norman Black.

The Gin Kings will once again count on Best Import Justin Brownlee, Arvin Tolentino, LA Tenorio and Best Player of the Conference Scottie Thompson. Brownlee showed the way with 40 points the last time around in Game 5.

Brownlee distinguished himself as having the scored the most points in PBA Finals’ history since TNT’s Terrence Jones sank 41 in San Miguel Beer’s 102-90 Game 6 victory in the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup.

The Bolts have been frustrated by Ginebra for the crown in 2016, 2017 and 2019, and are still hoping that they can finally reverse their situation this time around.
