Denice “Lycan Queen” Zamboanga has no doubts that she will win her second encounter with Ham Seo Hee at ONE X on March 26.

The #2-ranked ONE women’s atomweight contender endured a controversial split decision loss against the South Korean in the quarterfinals of the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix.

Now, for their rematch, the Marrok Force representative will take matters into her own hands.

“It was one of the darkest days for me as I’ve been saying ever since then that I won that fight,” Zamboanga revealed. “But it happened already, and it’s just a story now. What I can do for this upcoming rematch is to [rewrite] history.”

The 25-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert will use that outcome as motivation when she enters the Circle for ONE Championship’s tenth-anniversary slugfest.

“If you come from a loss, you’ll have that hunger, that urge to train harder. You want to prove that loss cannot define you,” the fighter with an 8-1 mixed martial arts record shared.”

I’ve been training hard since then. I missed the Circle, and I cannot wait to be back to show everyone how much I have improved.”

Zamboanga made changes to her training routine to prepare specifically for Ham. However, she won’t reveal the details of these adjustments.

“I cannot mention [the changes],” the Filipina admitted. “But what I can say is that it’s been a hard and fun training camp. I’m ready.”

While she has the right to seek redemption after a contentious loss to the 23-8 Ham, Zamboanga remained cordial in her message to the Busan-based competitor.

“You’re a great athlete, and it’s my pleasure to have a rematch with you,” she said. “Let’s give them a great fight. Let’s write history. I can’t wait to share the Circle with you again. See you soon.”

A win by Zamboanga may strengthen her case to compete for the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship. That’s why aside from her fight, she will keep an eye on how the title match between “Unstoppable” Angela Lee and Stamp Fairtex will play out in the main event.
