IT is time.
Tanduay Distillers, Inc. honors its pillar with the staging of the second Tanduay Chairman Kap, an invitational golf tournament for its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Lucio “El Kapitan” Tan today at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.
It will be whole-day affair for the company, its partners, families and friends, spearheaded by youthful TDI President Lucio “Bong” Tan, Jr., who extended the prestigious invitation to the ever-growing Tanduay community.
“We’ve grown by leaps and bounds, and we don’t forget to have fun while basking in our triumphs. One of the keys of a strong and successful company is to work hard and enjoy doing it. So let’s play golf in honor of our chairman,” said the younger Tan.
“El Kapitan,” Dr. Tan’s revered moniker in the industry, is credited for keeping Tanduay a part of the Filipinos’ bayanihan tradition since he took over the wheel in 1988.
With “El Kapitan,” Tanduay Rum 5 Years is rated the No. 1 dark rum in the world, along with more than 160 international awards for different products of Tanduay.
“And the bayanihan spirit is still very much alive in us, in every Filipino who we treat not just as customers but partners —or a part of the TDI history. A toast to El Kapitan,” said Tan.
Tournament chairman Gerard Cantada announced a system 36 format for the huge field expected to play, cars for hole-in-one feats and a truckload of raffle prizes at the end of the day.
This year, Tanduay Distillers, Inc. is celebrating 161 years of existence.
