OFFICIALS of the de-listed Philippine Volleyball Federation are willing to work it out with former volleyball chief Victorico “Concoy” Chavez in the formation of a new national sports association in volleyball.

PVF secretary general Otie Camangian said this as he welcomes efforts by Chavez to reorganize the federation.

“This is a positive development,” said Camangian, who was a member of the national team during Chavez’s watch as president of the Philippine Amateur Volleyball Association from 1988 to 1991.

“Oo naman. I hope we can help,” added Camangian.

Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. brought Chavez into the efforts to reorganize the NSA of volleyball, considering that he is an old hand and former president of the PAVA.

POC first vice president Joey Romasanta has stepped aside as interim president of Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. to let Chavez have a free hand in the rebuilding of the national federation for volleyball.

Romasanta said he has stepped aside in favor of those who are involved in the sport.

The formation of a new national sports association in the sport is in compliance with the provisional recognition given by the International Volleyball Federation to the PVF.
