Daniel Padilla returns to big screen

After the success of House Arrest of Us, a digital series also starring Kathryn Bernardo, musician and TV actor Daniel Padilla returns to the big screen with Whether the Weather is Fine, which had its worldwide premiere at the 74th Lorcarno Film Festival in Switzerland.  The film was exhibited under Cineasti del Presente section.

Established in 1974, Locarno Film Festival is open for all filmmakers from all over the world as its main goal is to showcase their talent and be a milestone for their future career in the movie industry.

The movie, also headline by Charo Santos-Concio, takes the viewers back to 2013 to explain the disaster made by typhoon Haiyan (known as typhoon Yolanda) through the eyes of a mother and her son played by Charo and Daniel. 

Locally titled as Kun Maupay It Panahon, it was presented by Filipino filmmaker Carlo Francisco Manatad during the festival. Manatad is known for his participation in the films Pamilya Ordinaryo and Feng Shui 2

Whether the Weather is Fine was first conceptualized in 2014 and was first disclosed to the public in 2019. 

In a Facebook post made by one of its local producers, Dreamscape Entertainment, they presented the list of different producers who handled the preparation for the film. They elaborated that the movie has twelve joint local and international producers along with the support from few film developers who came from different countries such as France, Germany, and Europe. 

In addition, the movie was also chosen by France to be given seed money for the film under the Aide aux cinemas du monde or known as France’s World Cinema Support. 

This financial aid was known to be granted to different filmmakers who seek financial guidance towards the production of their films.
