Misters of Filipinas pageant and founder Carlo Morris Galang, president of Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation, Incorporated (PEPPS), has forged partnership with Oxin Films to produce #MyDay, a Pinoy BL (boys’ love) series.
The producers aim to market the digital drama to BL fans not only in the Philippines but also to audiences in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and other territories where BL enjoys a good following.
"Our various social media platforms will usher us to the so-called ‘new normal’ wherein people could concentrate on numerous online initiatives and newest technologies. We are embracing this new lifestyle that is something new to the Philippines and our target audience, the millennials, and adults," said Galang on his new project created under this time of living in a dangerous COVID-19 crisis.
Xion Lim, director and producer of Oxin Films, dubbed #MyDay, The Series as timely and relevant to the global pandemic, and while experiencing worldwide economic recession.
"This project and film will also feature numerous exotic delicacies, famous tourism destinations, and rich cultural heritage aside from promoting gender equality, love, and respect," Lim pointed out.
In line with this project, one of the first BL online series in the Philippines, the production team conducted its search for the best and finest among aspiring and fresh, new talents that can turn into online sensations and celebrities.
To be introduced as leading actors are Iñaki Torres and Miko Gallardo. Gallardo is a 21-year-old native of Palawan and formerly based in Dubai. He joined in It’s Showtime’s Bidaman search and won the Head Hurados’ choice. He was featured in Kwentong Jollibee 2020 Valentine Series #couplegoals.
Torres, on the other hand, is an aspiring model. A BS Business Management graduate, he is now a successful businessman, managing an online shop, while making his way as one of local fastest rising online celebrities.
