Every Sunday afternoon, GMA Network and Regal Entertainment’s weekly anthology Regal Studio Presents never fails to bring heartwarming and inspiring stories to its loyal viewers across the country. It stirred the audience’s emotions as they laughed, cried, and felt kilig from the character’s stories.
This September, the show celebrates its first anniversary and promises to bring new entertaining stories to its line-up.
Kicking off the show’s anniversary celebration is the episode titled “Love Your Beat,” starring Lianne Valentin and Carlo San Juan. Both found their new roles for the show a stark contrast to what they’ve played in other series.
“Nung binasa ko ‘yung script, sabi ko it’s very far from Stella (her character from Apoy Sa Langit). Kailangan ko mag-adjust talaga kasi, ‘yung role ko dito sa Regal Studio Presents, she’s very perky, bubbly,” Lianne said.
She added that this role also brings a kilig factor, adding to her excitement as she discovers new things she can do in her career.
In the meantime, Carlo steps away from playing makwela roles to become the bad boy in the show’s anniversary episode. Since “Love Your Beat” is musically inclined, both actors are excited to show their talents in singing and playing instruments.
On the following Sunday, September 18, another episode of Regal Studio Presents brings Kapuso artists Almira Muhlach, Bryce Eusebio, and Jana Taladro.
For the last Sunday of the month, September 25, Yasser Marta and Althea Ablan headline the final episode of the show’s anniversary special.
Besides giving entertainment to viewers, Regal Studios Presents also paved the way for some actors and directors to jumpstart their careers in showbiz.
Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Regal Multimedia Roselle Monteverde takes her time to review the script and ensure that it has all the components to make a compelling story that viewers will enjoy.
GMA First Vice President for Program Management Joey Abacan listens to her suggestions to address some parts of the script or production that may be lacking. It allows them to add different directors or cast other actors to add depth to the story.
Abacan also shared that their collaboration with Regal Entertainment encouraged them to keep trying new things when producing new stories weekly. He shared that creating new content for the anthology is a gamble, but regardless of the uncertainty, he believes they get something out of their efforts to release content for Regal Studio Presents.
“It’s 50 percent guts and 50 percent research. But most of the time is not available, so the guts and the gambling is what we have been practicing,” Abacan said.
He added that he’s happy with the show’s development over the past year and counting as they’ve been working with fresh faces.
Thanks to the working relationship between Regal Entertainment and GMA Network, Regal Studio Presents is now a hit show among Filipino audiences. As it celebrates its first anniversary, the show promises to bring more feel-good stories that feature several Kapuso artists.
