Fresh from the success of its 9th theater production, the all-Filipino musical Ang Huling El Bimbo, Resorts World Manila (RWM) along with its producing partner Musical Management Asia Pacific, once again gives the country pride by setting the stage for the world premiere of All Out Of Love: The Musical at the Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) on Oct. 18.
All Out Of Love is a musical told through the timeless songs of Australian pop rock duo Air Supply, with script courtesy of award-winning Canadian playwright Jim Millan.
An Australian creative team will be behind the musical that tells the story of a struggling rock star, his embattled promoter and the loves of their lives.
Headlined by theater stars Mig Ayesa, Rachel Alejandro, Tanya Manalang, Raymund Concepcion, and Jamie Wilson, All Out of Love will feature 17 hits from Air Supply including “Lost in Love”; “All Out of Love”; “The One That You Love”; and “You are the Reason” among others. Graham Russell, one half of the legendary duo of Air Supply, also wrote a song entitled “I Was In Love With You” for the musical which fans will hear for the first time onstage when the show opens.
“Having grown up in the ‘80s and hearing Air Supply love songs on the radio, I am excited to see these songs realized in a theatrical context,” said director Darren Yap who has made the rounds directing musicals all over Asia for Cameron Mackintosh.
“The story is a modern fairy tale, set in New York in the music business. It’s a love story for all ages, beautifully woven together with the hit songs of Air Supply,” he added.
The musical is six years in the making according to producer Naomi Toohey who assembled a team of prominent stage masters which includes musical arranger and orchestrator Stephen Amos, choreographer Yvette Lee, co-director Jacinta John, local musical director Joe Tolentino and set designer Bob Brunton.
All Out Of Love the musical will have a limited run at the NPAT. Tickets are now available at the RWM Box Office and all TicketWorld outlets. Visit www.rwmanila.com or download the RWM Mobile App for more upcoming entertainment events at Resorts World Manila
