Ariana Grande: ‘Dangerous Woman’ in Manila

It’s exactly two years ago when pop chanteuse Ariana Grande “bang-banged” Manila by staging the Philippine leg of The Honeymoon Tour where she performed the hits culled from her second studio album, My Everything (2014), and paid tribute to Whitney Houston and Madonna.

After winning the hearts of people around the world by returning to the stage just three weeks after a suicide bomber attacked her concert in Manchester in May, the petite millennial Mariah Carey is back in Manila, more polished, mature and experienced, to treat local fans with her Dangerous Woman World Tour.

The 24-year-old pop princess is arriving today from Bangkok via her private jet for a concert tomorrow at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The "Dangerous Woman Tour" is the third concert tour of Ariana Grande, in support of her third studio album, Dangerous Woman (2016)

While security details have not been specified as of this writing, they are expected to be similar to that of Britney Spears’ Manila concert in June. That means, security will be extra tight even the PNP has already expressed their cooperation following the deadly attack after her concert in England in May.

At the venue, there will be no meet-and-greet (just what like happened in Seoul six day ago), and concertgoers will not be allowed to bring big cameras and big bags. But of course, fans are going to the “already sold-out” concert and will not be disappointed on what their idol will dish out.

As seen in the previous legs of the concert, Ariana is expected to go big on production. The enormity of the catwalk, end-to-end video wall and extravagant staging for the Dangerous Woman Tour can easily dwarf an artist of lesser caliber. But not Ariana, of course. She will perform against a stunning backdrop of lights and pyrotechnics perfectly set to the beat of her hit songs – but make no mistake, all eyes are on her.

MILLENNIAL CHANTEUSE. Known for her four-octave-and-a-note soprano vocal range, and the whistle register, Ariana Grande has been regarded as the biggest diva of her generation

While Ariana is known for her powerful vocals, the pop singer also proved that she’s got game when it comes to belting out high notes while being lifted, spinned and flipped. In this concert tour, she made dancing in 6-inch heels look effortless.

The 100-minute concert will feature more than 20 hits such as “Bad Decisions,” “Side to Side,” “Bang Bang,” “One Last Time,” “Problem,”and “Focus,” to name a few,  has everything: from laser effects, and hydraulics, to pink balloons falling from the ceiling. A party bus will also be on site to give fans a taste of how to live like Ari while on tour.

Dangerous Woman Tour kicked off in Phoenix, Arizona, with concerts taking place in 84 cities in 28 countries.  Since the announcement of her concert tour, Ariana fans’ excitement has been mounting on Twitter, with photos and videos of concert highlights and what they can expect from the multi-platinum young diva. After the Manila concert, Ari will be visiting Hong Kong, Taipei, and F1 Grand Prix in Singapore as part of the Asian leg of the concert series.
