Aga Muhlach and Alice Dixon return to the big screen via Nuuk, a psycho-thriller movie that takes place in one of the least inhabited areas in the world.

In the film,  Aga portrays the role of Mark Alvarez, a mysterious man who becomes a confidant to Elaisa Svendsen (Alice), a Filipina who longs for her deceased husband.

“I’m reading a lot of comments from people online from people speculating about the twists in my character and the story,” Aga said during the film’s press conference.

Shot in Greenland, 'Nuuk' is a psycho-thriller that features interesting characters that cross paths in the capital of the arctic country.

“Am I a ghost? A figment of Alice’s character’s imagination? I would love to share a few details but we cannot reveal anything because you have to see the full movie for you to be able to understand it,” he carried on.

Nuuk is the capital city of the autonomous country Greenland. This country has the record of having the highest rate of suicide in the world, with speculations that it’s because of the cold weather or its isolation from other countries, The real reason why suicide often occurs in the country is still unknown.

It’s in Nuuk where Alice’s character  Elaisa Svendsen lives.

“She’s a Filipina who lives in the arctic country. She is in despair after her husband dies. With nothing but alcohol and medicine to depend on, she becomes miserable, then one day, she crosses paths with Mark Alvarez, a fellow Filipino who is almost the same age as her,” the actress said of her character.

Aga Muhlach sets off to a chilly adventure in 'Nuuk,' a film that marks his reunion with Alice Dixson on the big screen.

Mark becomes Elaisa’s friend, She confides and feels at ease around him, and eventually starts to fall for him. Things are finally starting to get better for Elaisa because of Mark, until a mystery comes along, it appears that nobody recognizes Mark but Elaisa.

“Nuuk is the first Filipino movie shot in Greenland,” Aga shared adding that it was also produced in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark, the one who governs over Greenland.

From the same director of the heart-breaking romantic-comedy set in Iceland, Through Night and Day (2018), starring Paolo Contis and Alessandra De Rossi, FAMAS and Gawad Urian nominee Veronica “Roni” Velasco presents a very interesting and intriguing story, which they describe as a film that will play with your mind and make things around you seem too good to be true.

Nuuk opens in cinemas Nov. 6.
