It was 30 years ago in a concert called Kundi Sa Ultra, Saan Pa? when Ogie Alcasid, Dingdong Avanzado, Randy Santiago, and Gary Valenciano shared the stage together with fellow Kundirama alumni to a jam-packed crowd.
Tomorrow 8:00 p.m., the four OPM exponents will share the stage once more in a benefit show entitled Green & Go at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
“We were once members of the singing group Kundirana of La Salle Greenhills. Hence, the title of the show,” said Alcasid during a presscon held at My Brother’s Mustache Folk Bar in Quezon City.
But there’s is a much deeper meaning why the concert is called as such and why these Lasallians are coming together for a worthy cause.
This fundraising event is mounted by the La Salle Greenhills batch 1984 in celebration of their 35th homecoming year. All proceeds will be donated for the medical needs of fellow alumni.
“Aside from our hits, since all of us came from the era of the 1980s, most of the songs that we’ll be performing are from that era. If we are going to sing all of our hits it’s going to be a very long show, so we selected a few hits, probably some of our best records,” Alcasid shared.
“What to expect? Fun, laughter, some dancing and a lot of Lasallian humor and banter. I’m assuming a lot of people who will watch are from La Salle but of course we are inviting everyone to watch the show,” he added.
With musical direction by Mon Faustino and stage direction by Paolo Bustamante, Green & Go will be a one-of-a-kind concert, too, having an after party featuringRoute 70.
