You really shouldn’t kiss any of your friends. It’s an unwritten rule.

No matter how attractive they are, you definitely shouldn’t kiss any of your friends because it will change the relationship that you two have…forever. Unless of course you and your friend are both actors and you’re just playing the part, then everything should be fine.

When actor Enchong Dee and Janine Gutierrez locked lips while filming the upcoming dramedy, Elise, the Kapamilya actor initially felt awkward. Not only Janine is a good friend, the Kapuso actress is also the rumored girlfriend of his best pal, Rayver Cruz.

“I felt awkward upon realizing that I am kissing the special person of my best friend. I took it upon myself not to tell him about the kissing scene because he might storm to the set and stop our taping,” Enchong said in jest.

The actor was quick to explain that he and Rayver trust each other and that fans have nothing to worry about.

“I know for a fact that he’s very supportive. I am saying this one more time, there’s nothing to worry about,” he said.

Janine, on the other hand, is actually glad Enchong is her partner in the movie because she’s already comfortable working with the actor.

“I guess since we already know each other we didn’t have to adjust. And as for Rayver, I think it’s better that I work with a friend rather than someone who we didn’t know,” she said.

Enchong and Janine previously worked in the horror movie Lila in 2016. This time, they pair up for a movie that tackles about finding your soulmate and seeking your purpose in life.

What is special about this movie is that it is based on real-life events as revealed by the film’s director, Joel Ferrer.

“It’s a biopic romantic comedy that depicts events in the life of Bert (played by Enchong), who is quick-witted sickly emotional and independent guy who falls for Elise (played by Janine), who, on the other hand, is a strong, tough, independent woman,” Ferrer relayed.

Early on since childhood, Bert developed feelings for Elise. But puppy love is not yet something that should be taken seriously. Later on, they get separated to pursue education and chase their dreams.

Years later, their paths cross and old feelings get rekindled. But their situation is different now; they are not young kids anymore and love is not a children’s game. New struggles arise when their current situations do not work in their favor.

“It’s a long journey from start to finish. It talks about love, moving on, loving again, chasing, and finding your own dream,” Ferrer continued adding that the film is not just a love story, “It is based on real events that is why it’s worth watching.

Elise also stars Miko Raval, Victor Anastacio, Laura Lehmann and Miel Espinosa. The film opens Feb. 6 as Regal Entertainment’s pre-Valentine offering.
