A more mature, yet still very sweet, Zephanie wearing a dusty pink mini dress graced the stage at the Grand Ballroom of B Hotel on Thursday when she was introduced as the newest talent of Sparkle, GMA Network’s talent management arm.
Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, the 19-year-old singer said that the transition was smooth but it was not an easy decision.
“My management, Cornerstone, has been in talks with GMA since November. It’s one of the things we had on the table,” Zephanie started alluding to her previous interview with Manila Standard when she joined other Gen C stars in a grand event at the Academy Rock Studio.
“And now that I’m here, it feels like I have found a new home. And I’m excited to explore new things including acting if that will be presented to me. Acting is on my bucket list,” she added.
She is ready to build new relationships and go on new adventures in her first home – GMA.
“I started [my career] in GMA,” she revealed. “We thought it was a singing contest yun pala teleserye sya about singing contests. But isa po ako sa mga napili dun.”
She was only nine years old when she became part of the GMA soap Biritera in 2012.
On her return to the Kapuso fold, Zephanie wants to work with the likes of Julie Anne San Jose, Lani Misalucha, Mark Bautista, and Christian Bautista.
When it comes to acting, she is excited if she would be paired with Jhake Vargas and Derrick Monasterio.
“Masaya ako sa bagong chapter. I’m really excited to be back on stage. This is where I want to grow,” she added, saying that she wants to try drama and teen romance genres.
In real life, romance is far from her mind. “Kung ibibigay ni Lord…,” she trailed off.
Tall and moreno are what she looks for in a guy. If he could carry a tune, that would be a plus.
“May dating pag kumakanta sya, lalo na kung OPM or kundiman, iba talaga ang dating,” she confessed.
GMA’s Gigi Santiago-Lara and Sparkle’s Johnny Manahan formally welcomed Zephanie to the Kapuso network.

Her Kapuso family is also excited to welcome Zephanie in All Out Sundays this Sunday.
