Class of 2018 it is called and it reunites her with fellow Goin Bulilit alum Sharlene San Pedro.

The film opens in cinemas on Nov. 7. Written by Jericho Aguado and co-written and directed by Charliebebs Gohetia, it is the newest offering of T-Rex Entertainment, producer of critically acclaimed films Patay na si Hesus, Deadma Walking, and Bakwit Boys.
The story begins when Section Zamora contracts a mysterious virus during a field trip. The class made up of 24 students is quarantined by the military in an abandoned facility. Students Ada (Sharlene San Pedro), RJ (Nash Aguas), Princess (Kristel Fulgar), Migs (CJ Navato), and Venus (Kiray Celis) fight for their survival as they deal with the dangers of the infectious virus and politics among untrustworthy classmates.
The cast also features Yayo Aguila, Adrian Alandy, Dido dela Paz, Alex Medina, Sherry Lara, Michelle Vito, Ethan Salvador, Jomari Angeles, Kelvin Miranda, Nikki Gonzales, Lara Fortuna, Aga Arceo, Shiara Dizon, Hanna Francisco, Justin de Guzman, Dylan Ray Talon, Micah Jackson, Jude Matthew Servilla, John Vic De Guzman, Yvette Sanchez, Jerom Canlas, and Noubikko Ray.
Class of 2018 is the biggest starring roles for the tandems of Nash and Sharlene, and CJ and Kristel. When the official movie poster was first unveiled online, Sharlene felt a sense of awe, like she couldn’t believe she was headlining a film with her long-time love team mate. She posted on her Instagram, “Never ko na-imagine sa life ko na magkakamovie poster kaming dalawa (ni Nash).”
This project is also a big break for talented filmmaker Charliebebs “Bebs” Gohetia Class of 2018 is his eighth full-length feature to date. As an award-winning film editor, he has edited over 38 films, including the works of celebrated directors Mel Chionglo, Brillante Mendoza, Adolfo Alix, Jr., Joel Lamangan, and Joey Reyes.
Gohetia’s 2015 film shot in Thailand, I Love You, Thank You with Joross Gamboa, received seven nominations at the Star Awards for Movies.
He believes that he and the Goin’ Bulilit kids have come of age. “It’s our time to shine,” he remarks.

MTRCB conducts media literacy for PWD’s
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for the first-time in history conducted a media literacy seminar and film showing for persons with disabilities (PWD) at the E.T. Ona Auditorium of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) Diagnostic Center. The event was attended by members of the Kidney Transplant Association of the Philippines, led by President Tess Prima with dialysis and transplant patients and their families supported by NKTI officials and staff.
The event was held to educate and empower the audience, particularly the families about the plight of persons with disabilities and other disability-related concerns through the use of media and film appreciation.
The seminar was led by Chairperson Maria Rachel Arenas. Dr. Joselito Chavez, NKTI Deputy Executive Director for Medical Services, delivered the welcome remarks. MTRCB Board Members (BMs) discussed the powers and functions of the agency and the movie and television review and classification ratings and processes led by Bibeth Orteza, Keats Musngi, Dennis Padilla, and Bogie Reyes.
Other members of the board were there too – Mars Laguardia, Gloria Sevilla, Pam Macasaet, Atty. Gaby Concepcion, Atty. Ogie Jaro, Atty. Paolo Lim and Billy Andal.
The Human Organ Preservation Effort (HOPE) of NKTI or HOPE-NKTI also took part in the event by discussing organ donation. Transplant coordinator, Ivy Lukban, RN stressed the organization’s tagline “Sharing is Caring” and saving other people’s lives by donating one’s organ. An organ donor card was also given to MTRCB Officials in support of their advocacies.
The concluding part of the Seminar was a film showing featuring a family-oriented comedy drama film, Seven Sundays by Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Italian film festival opens on Nov. 14
Following the success of the first edition, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines and the Philippine Italian Association, together with the Film Development Council of the Philippines under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy in Manila, are proud to present the second edition of Italian Cinema from Venice Tto Manila, a selection of movies from the Venice International Film Festival.”
Thanks to our partnership with Central Square, Ayala Malls Cinemas and FBDC, the Italian movies will be screened in Taguig, BGC, at Central Square, in High Street where the festival will open on Nov. 14 and, by the following day, in Makati, at Greenbelt 3 and in Quezon City, at U.P. Town Center.
The nine movies that will be screened participated in the 74th Venice International Film Festival:
Ammore e malavita (2017), Una famiglia (2017), Hannah (2017), The Leisure Seeker (2017), Il colore nascosto delle cose (2017), Brutti e cattivi (2017), Gatta Cenerentola (2017), Il deserto rosso (1964), Novecento (1976).
All these films will be scheduled in the three cities and will be accessible at the discounted price of P150.
Another feature of this signature festival is the launching of an educational component: three Italian film experts will hold a series of master classes at the UP Film Institute, School of Design and Arts of Saint Benilde (Digital Filmmaking program) and Cinematheque of the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
Lastly, within the framework of this event, a Production Tour is being organized with the objective of strengthening the Philippine-Italian film industry ties. With the support of the European-Philippine Business Network, an Italian independent producer will visit six local production houses with the intent of exploring possible co-operations.
