‘The One That Got Away’ shoot now underway

Cameras have started rolling for the upcoming romcom on the Kapuso network that has been given the title The One That Got Away with Dennis Trillo playing the titular role.

Moving around Trillo’s character are three women all have gotten involved with the character at one time or another and they are going to be played by Lovi Poe, Max Collins, and Rhian Ramos.

Introduced after the production team revealed Trillo to members of the press are the three young actors who play the young men the three women will be involved with as they try to move on after breaking up with Trillo’s character. And they are Jason Abalos (the one that got away from the Kapamilya network), Ivan Dorschner (a Kapamilya salvaged from its wasteland by the Kapuso network) and Migo Adecer (Starstruck talent-search winner that needs the much-needed push to get past the starlet-forever-syndrome).

Dennis Trillo topbills GMA-7's upcoming primetime drama, "The One That Got Away," (inset) the whole cast of the series with its director Joel Lamangan (fifth from left)

With the main cast now in the starting line, the production crew is ready to tape scenes to make it to its 2018 premiere (if My Korean Jagiya would be given an extended life, and why not if it the numbers are still favorable).

The production had already met the complete cast and briefed them on the series and how it would tread its path. Maryo J. DeLos Reyes is at the helm and the network hopes it would equal if not surpass the numbers that My Korean Jagiya has been posting, making it the only primetime show of the Kapuso network that is giving the rival network some kind of a rating difficulty even as its rival is using all media platforms available to ensure it slays the competition.

Joining the series are some of the industry’s most illustrious performers – Bembol Roco and Snooky Serna – and a supporting cast that will make the series worth the late-night vigil. These are Ervic Vijandre, Ayra Mariano, Nar Cabico, Dea Formilleza, Joyce Pring at Euwenn Aleta. Another ex-Kapamilya is in the cast as well, and he is Jason Francisco.

Let’s wait for the updates on The One That Got Away. The show can be fun, I am sure.

After her successful and most-talked about performance in the highly anticipated R30 concert of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in October, Soul Songstress Aicelle Santos did not expect to receive rave reviews from netizens and industry members.

“Honestly, I felt a bit overwhelmed because the caliber and talent of the girls I was with in the divas production number were amazing,” shares Aicelle.

In the “divas” production number that went viral, majority singled out Aicelle and many were surprised at how unique and powerful her voice was as she stood her ground on her rendition of “Say That You Love Me” with Regine Velasquez – Alcasid.

Aicelle promises her fans and music lovers that they will get to see more of her amazing talent as she gears up for her upcoming concert Awit na Aicelle: Aicelle Santos in Concert on Nov. 24 (8 p.m.) at the Music Museum presented by Stages Sessions and GMA Artist Center.

“I am so looking forward to showcase more of my talent in my upcoming concert. I wish to celebrate the glorious talent and musicality of being a Filipino musician,” she adds.

Her special guests include The CompanY, Bullet Dumas, Quest, Myke Salomon, and Gary Valenciano.
