Thor, the vocal coach and former back-up singer, is ready to hit the airwaves and take the center stage again.

Tagged as the Master of Soul, Thor’s powerful, distinct and soulful vocal chops definitely resemble some of RnB legends like Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Donnie Hathaway and Glenn Lewis whom he looks up to.

Making waves in the music industry:
Master of Soul Thor

As one of OPM’s few singers, he has already and proudly shared the stage with David Benoit, Air Supply and David Foster. He also fronted for Taylor Dane, Edwin McCain, and Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” world tour in 2014.

Thor is relatively not a newbie on the recording scene. Warner Music released his debut album in 2004 with radio hits “Believe In Me” and “Wonderland.” In 2007, Ivory Records did Duets with Thor that featured Jay Durias, Luke Mejares, Freestyle’s Jinky Vidal, Nina, Juris and many other OPM artists. The album received an overwhelming buzz. It also did very well at record stores. A radio show of the same title on Wave 89.1 showcases OPM collaborations and arrangements.

After a number of exposures on different platforms, lights and lenses have finally panned on Thor. In 2013, Thor became part of The Voice of the Philippines Season 1 and made history by being the very first four-chair turner RnB genius stayed his own version of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” He made it to Team APL and eventually to the Top 8.

Thor’s The Voice exposure landed him to a string of opportunities. In May 2014, Rock and Soul, a concert that featured a fusion of two genres, was Thor’s first collaboration with Jovit Baldivino. He was also picked to be the interpreter of the song “The Only One,” a song written by Popsie San Pedro for Philpop 2014.

Master of Soul, his much anticipated album, consists of originals and covers. It is now out in the market and is set to smash the multiple singles “Paano Ko Sasabihin” with words and music by one of the country’s well known hit makers, Jonathan Manalo, and Klymaxx’s “I Miss You,” an ‘80s ballad hit, which inclusion in the album was personally requested by Kris Aquino in one of Thor’s appearances on Kris TV.

Thor’s latest offering is a collaboration with some of OPM’s award-winning and most sought-after songwriters, record producers and musicians—Soc Villanueva, Jungee Marcelo, Francis “Kiko” Salazar and Raizo Chabeldin who over-all produced, mixed and mastered the tracks. Produced by Cornerstone Music and distributed by Star Music. Initially available in selected Astroplus stores.
